An introduction to mindfulness and mindfulness practice. After a short “arriving” practice, we discuss what mindfulness is and isn’t and how it can help us. We demonstrate how our busy thinking mind normally works and how we normally operate out of a “doing” instead of a “being” mode of mind, and how often our lives are run on automatic pilot. With a fun practice, we show how, through being mindful and bringing a sense of “beginner’s mind” to the exercise, we can experience things in a different way.
Depending on the time of the year and the tides, we can meditate with a small group on the unique location of Death Island. Meditations will depend on the timings and group sizes but will consist of mindful sitting with the breath, mindful walking, and tuning into the sounds of the ocean.
