In meditation, the imagery of the waves and ocean is often used to describe the mind and the constant chatter of our thoughts. You can imagine that your thoughts are like waves that are constantly being created as they head to the shore. The ocean is the depth of our minds from which all these waves come and go back from.
During this mindfulness-based retreat, specially developed for Vilanculos Beach Lodge, we will be exploring ‘ocean mind’.
Over six days (with five nights accommodation), you will learn about mindfulness meditation, how to take a different look at our thought processes (the waves) and learn how to ‘surf’ them, instead of getting caught up in them as we normally do.
The ocean itself also can be healing and will be right outside your door. Meditation practices will take place every morning and you will be free to explore the pristine beach and the area of Vilanculos every afternoon. As an optional extra, you can add an island meditation day for an out-of-this-world experience.
