Vilankulo hosts an international airport with flights departing to/from Maputo and Johannesburg on a daily basis. There are also flights from KMIA (Nelspruit) to Vilankulo twice weekly. Both SA Airlink and LAM operate flights into Vilankulo. Should you require assistance with flight reservations ex South Africa you are welcome to contact reservations who will refer you to our preferred suppliers in South Africa.
The roads to Vilankulo are acceptable and tarred, but look out for potholes on route; a 4×4 is not a necessity. We do not suggest travelling at night in Mozambique. Fuel is readily available, but it is suggested to fill up when possible.
South African passport-holders do not require a visa for leisure travel to Mozambique. For all other passport holders we recommend that you contact the Mozambican embassy in your country of origin.
You will be asked to complete an Indemnity form, along with copies of Passport and visa. This is for the local Tourism authority and required by law.

It is recommended that you arrange travel insurance before you travel. Check that for medical emergencies you are covered in Mozambique. Chat to your local GP regarding malaria prevention treatments.

At Vilanculos Beach Lodge, we use 2-pin South African plugs. We recommend that guests bring any necessary adaptors, particularly for American plugs, as these adaptors are not readily available for purchase in Vilankulo. Please ensure you are prepared to stay connected and powered up during your visit!
The airport is approximately 7km from the lodge and transfers are complimentary.

Off Peak period 6 Jan – 14 Dec: A 50% deposit required and full payment is due 2 weeks / 14 days prior to arrival.
Peak period 15 Dec – 5 Jan: A 50% deposit based on the total booking value is due within 14 days of confirmation of booking and final
payment must be received no later than 30 days prior to the check in date.
VBL reserves the right to release any reservation without further notice or hindrance should the above requirements not be met.

We are able to assist with a cot for infants; this is, however, subject to availability, due to the layout of our bungalows we are unfortunately not able to assist with additional beds.
We are able to adapt our menu to your specific dietary requirements, all we require is that you advise us in advance of your meal requirements so we may purchase the necessary ingredients in advance. Please note we are not Halaal or Kosher accredited and whilst we take care not to mix any pork with other food items it is important to note we do cook pork in our kitchen.

In the event that the traveller may need to cancel the reservation, irrespective of reason, such cancellation must be
made in writing and in such instances any and all payments made will be held by VBL as a credit for the traveller for a period not exceeding 12 months.
